Surgery Feelings
When I was five I had my first surgery to tighten the muscles in my eye and lower them, only to find when I was nineteen the surgeries had been preformed incorrectly the first time. I would have to choose to have another surgery or my spine would become arthritic and I could be paralyzed and die.

A Dark Diagnosis?
In 1997, I went to my optometrist for an annual eye exam. I expected to come out with a new prescription for my glasses and contacts. Instead, I got a referral to see an ophthalmologist because my optometrist saw a cyst-like grouping of blood vessels at the top of my retina in my right eye.
